In the world of team sports, I often hear parents (heck I am one of "those" parents) conversing about the angst during a tryouts on the placement of their child.  We often think as parents what if they don't make the #1, numero uno one's team does that mean it is time to search for a new team, coach or sport?


I have been there - I have one child who has never seen anything but a top team, another who is in the middle of the pack and one we will have to wait and see.

Things each parent needs to keep in mind when your child is being placed on a team.

- PLAYING TIME

Playing time is key to your child's long term success with any sport.  You need to determine where they fit into the team are they a "practice player" (no game playing time); I have sat and watched players who were added in order to ensure the team had enough players but were clearly not going to play during most of the competitive games during the season.
